February is here

The past few days in the Clark household have been eventful to say the least! Ladd was not able to stay with us last weekend as planned. The pass was actually closed! I shouldn't have been suprised, since we even got snow on the valley floor! I'm sure the pass was a mess!
Anyway, we had my parents over for chicken enchilada's on Friday night. We had a lot of fun! My mom and I had strawberry margarita's while Trav and my dad drank wine. We showed them the Wii (since technically they got it for us for Christmas). My dad loved it and ended up playing for 6 hours!!
Saturday we slept in....I mean REALLY slept in! We didn't have a lot to do and we both needed some catch up sleep! It was great. Then we headed to the gym and back home. We had some friends over that night and had a good time talking and laughing into the wee hours of the night!
Sunday was SUPERBOWL Sunday! We got up early to take care of all our Sunday chores. We headed to Air and K's at about 2:30 and then headed to Cheryl's at 3:30 to watch the game. We had a great time with everyone there, eating, drinking, and yelling for our team! It was a good game. Air and I won a bet on "squares" so that was fun!!!
Monday came to quickly and with a bad spin. We had an auditor coming to work so Monday was very busy spent preparing. After lunch Trav took Kayden to the vet to get his wound re-wrapped. He called with bad news. The vet said the wound was not healing with the bandage on so we needed to leave it off so it could air out. She said if it didn't heal they could try surgery one more time, but if that didn't work....well that would be the last shot. My heart died. Why is this happening? I love little Kayden SO much. We were very concerned leaving the bandage off with the wound in such a fragile state. The whole reason we're still dealing with this is because he manages to get around his bandage and his collar and mess with his tail. I had to use everything in me to finish out the work day. I would have been home in a second if it wasn't for the audit. Trav ended up going home at 3:30 to be with him. When I got home I asked if we could get a bigger collar, and possibly a sedative so he would remain calm. The vet said yes, so we went to get both.
We put the new collar on him and gave him a sedative before heading to Ame and Jays for our dinner date. We were late, but Ame and Jay were very understanding!! Thier house so so beautiful! We had a good time at dinner, although I was worried about Kayden. We all headed back to our house for dessert after dinner. When I walked through the door my heart broke. Kayden had managed to get the collar off his head and had been ripping the metal staples out of his tail. :*( I wish he understood what he was doing. So we had to re-wrap it, defeting the drying it out purpose, but we didn't know what else to do! That night was awful to say the least. He was very rambucious and I didn't want him to get his collar off or mess with his tail anymore so I stayed up with him almost all night. I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest.
Tuesday we left his tail wrapped since we couldn't be home to watch him. I got off work at 4 to go home and be with him. We had lots of plans this week but we cancelled them all so we can just go home and be with Kayden in the evenings and take the badage off. Last night that is all we did...just watched Kadyen. Basically what it looks like is happening right now is since the bandage kept so much moisture on the wound it cause the skin to get "soggy" and die. So it just came off. So it looks really bad because a big chunk of his skin is missing and it's red and raw. We have to watch it closely so it doesn't get infection, but as long as he can't get to it and we can continue to dry it out it should start to scab over and heal. As far as we can tell the incision is still all together. It still needs to heal also though. It's not going to be as pretty as we expected if it does heal, but I don't care. I just want him alive and healthy!!! If he does get to it though, he will try to "clean" the open wound, which will end up hurting him because it's already so thin there, he will end up re-opening the incision which means another surgery and then we could end up right back where we are anyway. So every moment that I can't be home watching him is killing me. And we have to leave it wrapped when we're not around to watch him so it's not airing out. We pray for him all the time, and all my friends and family are praying for him to. I am happy to report that it is looking a little better today, although it still has a long way to go!
Drama in the Clark household! Thats all thats going on for now. It's Wednesday....only 2 more days of work this week. Thank goodness for that!
Happy Birthday to our good friend K!! He turned 26 on the 5th!

What a weekend!

We had a VERY interesting weekend! I'll start right in!!
Friday I got off work early and took Kayden to the vet. They took out his stitches and told us to watch him and make sure he didn't gnaw at his tail, but that it was ok for him to clean it. Well, we didn't think it looked great, since one side of it was still a little split open, but we did what the vet said.
At about 9:30 PM, Kayden had split the whole end of his tail. Just like it was 2 weeks ago right after the surgery. It was an emotional evening to say the least. We were looking forward to him healing, having his collar off, and getting back to normal life. Now, that wasn't the case.
Saturday we took him to the vet at 11am. They told us they were going to have to put him under and operate again, or it wouldn't heal correctly. Not only was it another $100, but we were back at square one. Another 3 weeks at least of the collar and keeping him inside. Ugh, so stressful. Anyway, they kept him there to do the surgery and asked us to pick him up on Sunday.
After dropped Kayden at the vet, we headed to the gym for a little workout, and then we went to Salem. I had a few things to return/exchange and we wanted to go to a great Italian Restaurant in Salem. We had a lot of fun at the mall shopping. We got some good deals and didn't spend much because of the returns, so that was really nice. At 6:30 we went to dinner and had a wonderful meal, accompanied by live piano. We both got chicken ravioli in a garlic cream sauce topped with lot of blue crab. YUM!!
On our way home we stopped at my parents to say hello, and finally headed home at about 10. We watched a movie with Monika and she brought us our Christmas gift which is a great game! I can't wait to play it!
When we got home Saturday I tried to find my phone to text a friend, but I couldn't find it anywhere. After searching for about an hour I realized that I must have left it in one of the stores we were at in Salem. That was not a good feeling, because we were in a lot of stores! There was nothing I could do except wait and call them all the next day.
We went to bed at about 2, and had to get up at 6:30 to go to Fred Meyer for the Wii lottery at 6:45. I hardly remember going, it feels like a dream. We stood in the cold rainy weather for about 10 minutes before they handed out the tickets, and then another 10 minutes before they called the 6 winning numbers. They called Trav's number first!! It was such a relief!! SO we got our Wii, came home and got right back into bed! We woke up at 10 and saw that it had snowed!! Yay!
We got up and cleaned the house and waited for the vet to call and say we could pick up Kayden. While we waited I called every store I could think of and no one had seen my phone. :*( What a weekend!!
The vet called at about 1:30 we picked up little Kayden and brought him home. Then we did our grocery shopping and finished our chores! My mom called me at about 5 with great news. TJ Maxx had called her and told her they had my phone!! We haven't picked it up yet, but we will soon....hopefully. We just don't go to Salem that often!
It was a crazy crazy weekend! A lot of good things happened though, and some bad.
Now it's the dreaded Monday once again. I can only hope that this week will be better than last!

46 days until Riviera Maya!

Another weekend has come and gone. It was a good one though!
Friday evening we headed over to Brian and Lindsey's house. Jeff and his girlfriend Maria showed up at about 6:30 and we all took off for Wyatts to have some dinner. We had very yummy food, I had the chicken Cesar wrap which I love!
After dinner went went back to Brian and Lindsey's to have some drinks and play games! We broke out the wine and Apples to Apples first. Chris and Brandi came over during Apples to Apples and we all had a lot of fun playing! Later in the evening we played Catch Phrase, which was so much fun! I think I may just be that games are funner and funner the more you drink. Anyway, by the end of the night people were throwing the catch phrase at the next person to get it out of their hands before the buzzer went off! We had a great time.
Saturday Trav and I slept in, but then for some reason we were REALLY productive. I love those days! We put on switch covers that we hadn't put on yet from when we re modeled. We counted anything we didn't have a switch cover for and went straight to Home Depot to buy them. We also picked up a new dining room light. When we got home we installed the light & put the remaining switch covers on! It felt so good to get it done! Everything feels much more complete in the house now! Of course there are still things we want to do over time, but this was a step in the right direction!
After all that, we went to the gym and did a good cardio workout before jumping in the pool and spa! The pool and spa are so nice to have available! Then we headed back to the house and made a delicious new recipe before watching the Bourne Ultimatum. It was an action packed movie, and it was great!
Sunday we got up and started right into our Sunday chores. We got a lot done! We treated ourselves with a coffee from the little shop down the street from our house. They make delicious coffee!!It was a good weekend! We had fun with friends, got a lot around the house accomplished, and got some relaxing in!
Now it's back to work for another week. There are only 46 days left until we leave for Mexico!! It's coming up! Have a good week!

Hump Day

Wow, I can't believe it's Wednesday and I haven't blogged yet!
I should start at the weekend! It was a good weekend, although fairly uneventful. We picked Kayden up Friday evening. He is doing very well. I can tell he is feeling ok, because he is very playful and feisty! Trav took him in this morning, because last night he managed to get his bandage off. The vet said it is looking very good, much better than expected, so she just took the bandage off anyway. Next Friday we will take him in to get his stitches out and then we can send him back out into the wild!
He has been sleeping in our bed the past 3 weeks that he has been inside, and recently with his new, Elizabethan collar, he has been waking Trav and I up during the night. He scratches at his ears a lot, and it rubs again the collar making a loud, irritating sound. He makes sure to do it for a good 5 minutes at a time to make sure we are awake! So, needless to say, I have not been getting good sleep this week.
My husband is famous! He launched the new web sites that he has been working on for MONTHS, on Monday! Yay! He had 2 stories written about him and the sites in the newspaper! The sites are so much better, and he has received lots of positive response from the public! As usual, I am very proud of him! He worked really hard on this, and his hard work is paying off!
Monday Trav got off work early, because he went in at 5 to get the sites launched. Since it was pretty slow at my work, I took off early to, and we headed to my parents. I worked for my mom for a couple hours, and then we had yummy salmon, pasta, and green beans for dinner with my parents.
Last night we went to GameTime, a little bar/restaurant down the street from our house, with Ame and Jay. We hadn't met Jay, except for at their wedding and I know he met a lot of people that day and probably doesn't remember any of them! Anyway, we had a really good time, and it was great food for a good deal!
After dinner we headed to the gym. We played racquetball and then jumped in the pool before soaking in the spa. It was a great evening!
Tonight we are heading to Air and K's for dinner! I am looking forward to it. Tomorrow we have an evening to ourselves, but we are hitting the gym again! I like this gym a lot more though! It has several more fun things to do!
This weekend we are re-uniting with co-workers from Allied! Our good friends Lindsey and Brian, and Jeff will be joining us! I am looking forward to it!
Well, it's back to work for me! Have a good rest of the week!

Almost the weekend!

2 hours until the weekend! Yippee!
This has been a difficult week, being the first week back to work full time in about 3 weeks! And knowing there is no hope of time off until March! But I made it!
We took Kayden in for his surgery today. I am feeling really sad about it. I know it had to be done; his tail has just been a nuisance to him since it broke. But I feel bad that he has to have surgery, and I am very sad that his tail will be gone. I am SO grateful he is alive and ok though. We will pick him up this afternoon and dote on him non-stop!
On top of that, I feel like we are drowning in debt right now. We have just been hit hard recently with unexpected bill and bill. First the vet, then the cars needed repairs and maintenance….it just seems to never end. And my credit card bill shows the damage. I just want to get out of debt!! I know I need to be patient and we are working toward it, but it’s hard to wait!
Travis and I have decided to join the YMCA. They offer a lot more in their membership than Anytime Fitness where we currently are members does. Fun things like a pool, spa, sauna, racquetball, and even exercise classes. On top of the regular weights and cardio machines. I think it will help us be motivated to go, since we can do things we enjoy while we are there. And it’s not much more a month than the other gym was. Plus it is month to month, no contracts. I hate contracts! Anyway, we are going in to sign up on Saturday and then we will stay and enjoy the pool and spa at least! Maybe even try out the other equipment.
Other than that we don’t have much planned. We need to do a few things around the house and of course our normal Sunday chores, but I think we will be able to squeeze in some relaxing time also!
Well, only an hour and ½ left of work, so I’m gonna get back to it. Have a wonderful weekend!

A case of the Monday's

I defiantly have a case of the Monday's today. I despise Monday's. I hate waking up and thinking, "Today is Monday". Any day is better than a Monday. It's the start of a new work week, the weekend is over, and they are always such busy days at work!
Ugh! But the weekend was good!
Friday evening we headed over to Brian and Lindsey's house. We haven't seen them forever, so it was great catching up! Lots of laughing, which is very important! At 9 Rachelle called and said she was having a goodbye party, since she was heading back to AZ the next day, so we headed to that! We drank at Robins until about 11 when the group headed to Lucky Larry's. We drank at Lucky's until almost 2 before heading home. It was a lot of fun, but I drank way to much and paid for in on Saturday! I ended up sleeping most of the day away, and laying on the couch for the rest of it. But I made a full recovery and was ready to start Sunday early!
Sunday Trav and I got a lot done! I love weekends when we get a lot done, it feels so productive! First thing we did was rake and trim up the back yard. It started snowing while we were out there. They were beautiful full flakes! It was so pretty. Then we cleaned the garage out a little. After that was done we had some lunch and then took our cars in for maintenance. Oil Changes, and Trav needed new lights and new tires. Once that was all done we went grocery shopping and got our chores around the house done before finally sitting down at 7 and relaxing for the rest of the evening.
Now it's Monday again and I have 2 whole months of full work weeks until another break! Grin and bear it, right? :)

A new year

The new year is finally here!! It's hard to believe it, but it is 2008. I really feel that this is going to be a great year!
We had a great 4 day weekend and a wonderful New Years!
Saturday we went with Lacee and Hunter to tube the Autobann at HooDoo. The drive itself was an adventure! We hit snow on the road right past Foster Lake and we're driving on snow from there all the way to HooDoo. It was so beautiful! It was at least 6 feet high on the sides on the road, and packed onto the road so we had to put our chains on!
When we got to HooDoo we tubed for an hour or 2 and then headed to the lodge to warm up with hot food and cocoa! We headed home before it got dark. It was a fun day and good time spent with my cousin and Hunter before they headed back to Cali the next morning! We are planning on heading to Cali to visit them in August!
Sunday we did our normal chores and things and watched some movies. It was a good relaxing day. Monday we headed over to Air's in the early afternoon to help her get ready for the party. At 6 we headed to her co-workers house for "pre-drinks" and at about 7 we took a cab to the new restaurant/bar 101 in Corvallis. It was a very nice place! Ritzy! I want to try it for dinner sometime soon. We had a tangerine drop martini and some appetizers and hung out until about 9 when we headed down the street to the Peacock. They had a live band so we drank some beer and danced to the live music. They handed out party hats and horns which were fun to wear and make noise with! A bunch of drunk people with those party horns sure does make a bar more lively!!
Air and I called a cab at about 10 so we could go back to the house and drink with Trav and K. We got back at 10:30 and made some yummy drinks and played a drinking game. By 11:30 the house was full of people! Everyone we had gone to the bar with came over, as well as a few other friends! We all watched the ball drop and toasted with champagne! At 1 we headed to El Prez to do a little karaoke. We got back to the house at 2 and called it a night!
New Years Day we slept in and had a very lazy day. We went to my mom and dads for dinner at 5 and got home at 9 in time to watch a little tv and go to bed!
Now it is another normal week! At least this one is short, because after this holiday I don't think I have anymore time off until our vacation in March! That will be a much needed break! We are very excited to go!!
Thats all for now! It's almost noon on Thursday, so only a day and 1/2 until the weekend!! We have lots of errands to run and little maintenance projects around the house to do this weekend. It will be good to get it all taken care of! Have a good rest of the week and a wonderful weekend!
