Internet Down

Our Internet is down at work right now. It has been down since I got here at 8, and it’s almost 11! Since I do almost ALL of my work on the internet, I have been feeling pretty useless today!
I can’t believe I haven’t already mentioned this, but Travis finally settled on a price for the car. It’s nothing wonderful, but at least we should be able to find something somewhat reliable with it. We will probably have to spend a little out of pocket, but less than we would have had to if we had settled before! It’s nice to have that done. We still don’t have the check. We are sending in the signed title today, and the adjuster said once he gets the title, he will send us the check. We have been looking for cars in our price range for the past week or two, and so far we haven’t had much luck. I am going to look at an Audi today, but it’s older, so it probably has high miles….And it’s about $1500 more than we got for my car, so I’d have to talk him down quite a bit if I was interested. We’ll see. I just want a car that will hold a family and last me for about 10 years before it poops out on me! It’s a pretty frustrating situation. Such is life.
Travis and I put 2 more lights up light night. They look really good! We had a super yummy dinner! Travis wanted hamburgers and I wanted chicken, so we decided to make chicken burgers! We grilled up the chicken, along with corn on the cob (I am really going to miss all these fresh veggies when summer is over!) Zucchini, and some peppers for Trav. I sliced up fresh tomatoes and lettuce for the hamburgers, and sliced up a cucumber to snack on! It was all SO good! And we finally went back to the gym. When Ladd came to stay for the week, it threw off our schedule so we stopped working out that week. Then we had our anniversary, so we were gone Monday and Tuesday of the following week, and we just didn’t make it the rest of the week. So this was our first workout in 2 weeks!
It didn’t feel great doing it, but it sure did feel good afterwards! I really want to get back into the routine!
I am pretty excited to get our dining room chandler up! I think it will look really nice. After we get it up, we will only have one more hall light, and the office and guest bedroom. Then we have to replace all the door knobs and plug covers and a couple more switch covers! We are getting there!! I can tell it is going to be very cozy in the winter!
The lights make it extra cozy, and the fireplace will make it even cozier if we can get it all fixed up and start using it.
Early this morning there was a lunar eclipse! I really wanted to see it, but it didn’t start until 2:30a and went until almost 4:30a! I knew we wouldn’t be able to watch the whole thing because of the timing, but the best part was supposed to be right around 3:30, so we set our alarm for 3:30 so we could take a quick look. At 3:30 when the alarm went off I couldn’t figure out what the noise was. I finally realized it was the alarm and wondered to the window to look for the moon. I couldn't’t find it, so I woke Trav up and we went outside to look. It was really cool to see the moon an orange/red color. We looked at it for about 2 minutes before heading back to bed!
I get to have an house lunch with Trav today! I am looking forward to it! Since they took my rental car away I have only been having ½ hour lunches because it takes Travis 15 mins each way to drive here. It will be nice to have a whole hour break, plus it will be great to spend a whole hour with Trav! He has a meeting in Corvallis today, which I just happen to be on the way to, so he has a little extra time!
My work is moving! Not far, just to another warehouse across the parking lot! But it’s still going to be a lot of work to move everything over. The new office space is a lot bigger. I think it will be nice when it’s all fixed up.
I've been thinking more about work recently and I've realized that I am finally feeling very comfortable in my new job. I still have questions every now and then, but for the most part I feel comfortable running the show! It is a GREAT feeling! I'm very blessed to have found this position....so close to home and something I can enjoy!
Well, our Internet is still down. I hope it will be up soon!
Have a great Tuesday!

Monday again!

I despise Mondays!! I always sleep so badly on Sunday's because I sleep in more on the weekends so I'm just not tired!! Last night we went to bed at 11, and neither of us was tired so we talked until 11:45, and then tried to sleep but I didn't fall asleep until almost 2!! And even then it was restless sleep! Starting a new week seems to just get harder and harder each time! Now I'm looking forward to every weekend so much, and it just goes by so quickly!!
At least this weekend is a 3 day weekend! I am looking forward to that!
Trav and I had a great weekend. We didn't have anything that we HAD to do, which turned out to be a GREAT feeling! Friday we had no plans at all, so after work we went out to dinner and during dinner K called and asked us to come over for a little get together he and Air were having. So we went over there and spend the evening talking, laughing and drinking! We stayed the night, and woke up at 10 on Sat. We sat on the couch and talked with Air and K until about 11, then we headed home.
We decided to go to Home Depot to get light fixtures, toilet seats, vent covers, switch covers, etc! $600, 3 stores, and 4 hours later we were almost done!! We had to head to Corvallis for dinner with the inlaws! Dinner was good. Steak, corn on the cob, potato salad, and watermelon! We left at 8:30 and watched a couple rentals we had just rec'd from Netflix!
Sunday we slept in until 10, got ready, and went to Trav's company picnic at Lakeshore Lanes. We had a great time! Trav bowled an average of 150! Nice work Trav! We bowled until 2, Trav won a professional bowling bag (yippee)!
We went grocery shopping after that and finally got back to the house at 5!! We were anxious to get back so we could put some of our new things together!! We worked from 5 - 10 on house stuff. It was so much fun! We could have gone all night!! But, it's hard to put lights up when there is no light from outside so you can see!! There is still more to do, but we got a LOT done and I already feel better about it!
I can't wait to get these little projects finished. Then we just have a little more we want to do in the yard, mainly to prepare it for looking beautiful next spring, and when the weather takes a turn, we are going to go crazy organizing the garage! Once all that is done, our house will feel complete! There will still be little projects we will want to do to improve it, but nothing will feel incomplete....like it does when you don't have switch covers or light fixtures are hanging from the ceiling!
Our next big house project will probably be the fireplace. We have to find a way to update it! We need to save a little more before we can start that though! Hopefully we can do it this winter!
Ok, sorry I talked for so long about the house! I got carried away!
Happy Monday!

Sunshine!

My Stars! It’s Friday again!! This week has gone by very quickly! I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that I only worked 3 days! I am excited for the weekend. For I think the first time all summer, Trav and I don’t have any major weekend plans! We have dinner planned at his parents at 7 Saturday, and from 11 – 4 Sunday we are going bowling with Trav’s work for his summer work party! Saturday we will also probably get the lights and switch covers for the house and maybe even get some of them on! We may also go rafting or to Silver Creek Falls, if we get a wild hair. It’s supposed to be nice this weekend, so I’d like to take advantage of the weather as much as possible!
Last night we had my parents over for dinner! Well, it started with my parents, but it ended up that my brother and grandma came to! The more the merrier! We had bbq’d chicken, corn on the cob, salad, fresh zucchini, summer squash, rice, and cantaloupe. Then we had cake and ice cream for dessert! Of course, my parents brought plenty of wine! When they first arrived, we sat outside on the patio and sipped on wine while enjoying the sunshine. After dinner, we played a game called tripole, which is a great game that my family has played for as long as I can remember!
My parents took my grandma home around 9:30, and my brother stayed to watch a movie with us. It was nice to hang out with my brother a little longer. He is only here for another month before heading back to college.
It was a great night! I’m glad we got to host the dinner. Travis was very helpful! It was nice that we bbq’d. Sometimes I get stressed out if I’m the only one cooking for a large group and it seems like every thing happens at once! Last night was very relaxed and Trav helped with the cooking, setting the table, etc! He is such a blessing to have around!
I have a journal that my mom gave me for my wedding and told me to keep it in my nightstand and write in it after I got married. I was looking through my few entries last night and realized that Travis and I had a very rough first year of marriage. The first 2 – 3 months were amazing, but with him being in school and not working much, if at all, it was really hard. There were so many extra stresses…not enough money, long hours at school and on homework, the house was to small, etc. Reading our struggles surprised me, because I love being married so much, and he is such a great husband. I was going through some hard times for a good 6 months. I just thank God that those times are over. Travis has his career job now and loves it, we are feeling settled into our new home…which is actually BIG enough to hold all our stuff, and we are so blessed.
Well, I’ve babbled enough for today! Have a great weekend!

2 year anniversary!!

I can't believe our anniversary is already over. I think about it for so long, and plan things, etc, and then it's over so quickly!
Trav and I had a wonderful time, away from all the normal riff raff. We had recieved a free night at a cabin at Crooked River Ranch as a gift for our wedding, and decided to use it for our anniversary! We added on a night, so we got to stay a little longer.
The weather was so strange! Although it didn't rain on us, and we did get a good amount of sun, it was cloudy and about 75 most of the time! Very strange weather for late August!
Our cabin was so cute, but the whole thing was about 200 square feet. It was very cozy!
We climbed Smith Rock the day we got there. I was wearing flips flops, and we did "Misery Ridge" which turned out to be basically going straight up the mountain! It was a little scary in flip flops. We made it though, and the view from the top was amazing! We were very glad it was cloudy that day, because we were sweating!! Coming down we thought would be easy, but it was difficult as well! We had to slide down on our butts most of the way! Looking back it is really funny, but at the time I really thought we might die!
Anyway, that evening we went to dinner at the Sandbagger Saloon, which was in our resort. It was very yummy! We ended the night cuddled up on the bed, watching late night re-runs!
We slept in on our anniversary. We both woke up around 10, and then just laid in bed and talked until a little after 11. We got ready for the day, and decided to head into Redmond to walk around. We wanted to have our anniversary dinner at a nice restaurant, and we had seen a couple nice restaurants advertized in Redmond. So, we wondered along the streets, going into all the little shops, just holding hands and enjoying each others company! It was cloudy most of the day, and unbelievably chilly when the wind blew! We thought maybe our gift to each other should be sweatshirts so we could warm up!
Before we could find a clothing store we wandered into a little ceramics shop! We decided it would be fun, and a great gift to paint each other a coffee mug! It was so fun! We spent about 3 hours working on each others mug! They are shipping them to us after they fire them, and I am so excited to see the finished product!!
After we left there we found a great little clothing shop. They were having a sale on sweatshirts! So we got each other a sweatshirt as well!!
Then we found a little pet store and stopped in to play with the animals. At about 6 our tummies started to rumble! At the sweatshirt shop the cashier told us about a wonderful, intimate little resturant called Chloe's. We decided it sounded perfect. It was very nice. Candles on the tables, very nice staff, and very intimate environment! The food was wonderful!!
We went back to the cabin and toasted ourselves with champagne. :)
It was nice to just take a break from the world and spend time together! I love Travis so much and I have truly enjoyed the past 2 years! Being married is so much fun!
"Here's to us baby!"

Hump day

Another week is in full swing! Trav and I had a great weekend. We went camping with our friend Ladd. He moved to Bend a few months ago, so it’s always good to see him! We left for camping right after work on Friday. We got ice, packed up the cooler, and off we were! Ladd had headed there a little early to get us a spot. Good thing he did to, because our normal spot was already taken and the campground we got would have probably been full by 6:30 when we got there. When we got there we got all set up and started something for dinner. We had hamburgers. Yummy! After that Trav started in on the beer and I had some wine. Ladd had been drinking throughout the day while he waited for us, so he was feeling pretty good by the time we showed up! We had a good time sitting around the campfire talking and catching up!
The next morning we slept in until 10, got up to have breakfast, and then took a nap. It was so relaxing! Then we went out on the river and fished and played in the water. It was a beautiful day! When it got to be about 6, we headed back to camp to start dinner. We had hamburgers, cantaloupe, corn on the cob, and baked beans! It was very yummy. We had run out of firewood the night before, so the guys went in search of more. They ended up getting a LOT of good pieces, but they were across the river so they had to carry them across! Good times!
Sunday we packed up and headed home a little after noon. We just had a chill day. We got all our chores done and went grocery shopping.
Now we are mid-week. It has been and will continue to be a busy week! We have been busy every night so far, and tonight we need to get an oil change on the car and clean up the house for company Thursday night. We are having Lindsey and Brian, Jeff, and Ladd over for drinks and to celebrate with Jeff because Jeff Quinn left Allied Waste finally!
Friday we need to pack for our anniversary trip. We will be celebrating our 2nd year married! We are going to a cabin at Crooked River Ranch for a few nights. We are really looking forward to just relaxing and spending time together.
Update on the car: we are still arguing over the settlement price. We returned the rental Friday, so now Travy is driving me to and from work and chiropractor appointments. I feel like we will close soon though, and then the car search is on! I will be glad when this insurance battle is over. I am not looking forward to having to settle on the medical claim. Hopefully we won't have to deal with Jesse, who is very difficult to even get ahold of and not helpful at all!
Well, have a good rest of the week!

Travis

Man, lately I find myself wondering a lot, “How did I get such an amazing husband?” Travis takes such good care of me. He makes me laugh, he listens to me when I am upset, and he knows the right things to say to calm me down. He is always there for me, and I never have any doubt that he loves me completely. He is my best friend, lover, and soul mate. How did I get so lucky? We work on our dreams together and we support each other. We have FUN together! Everyday is not wonderful, but I always know I can rely on Travis. I thank God everyday for bringing Travis into my life.
Travis, Thank you for being such a wonderful husband, man, and someday, father. Thank you for letting me lean on you when I am not strong enough. Thank you for holding me close when I need to be held, and giving me space when I need space. Thank you for communicating with me, and supporting me in my dreams. Thank you for envisioning the future with me, and working with me on making it what we want. Thank you for making me laugh, and keeping a smile on my face. Thank you for all the sacrifices you make everyday to do the right thing for me and for us. I love you so much and I feel so blessed to have you as my husband! I look forward to each day we spend together and I can’t wait for the next 70 years with you! I love you.

Monday AGAIN?!?!

Monday again! Wow, they are just coming so quickly these days. Trav and I had a good weekend. We didn't get a lot done, but every now and then I think thats ok! We were dog sitting for the Clark Sr's. It was nice because we were away from our house, so it kind-of gave us a little break.Anyway, Friday we had to run a few errands after work, but we headed to Corvallis at 6:30. We ordered pizza from Pizza Pipeline as we were heading out of Albany, so it would be ready when we got to Corvallis. We love Pizza Pipeline pizza! We had picked up a 5th of grape vodka to share, so we stopped at Fred Meyer to get a couple mixers. Then we went to get our pizza, and headed to the Clark Sr's house. Brian ended up having to work late, and after he got off work, he and Lindsey had to return something to Salem, so they had to cancel. Trav and I decided to have a cozy night...just the two of us, pizza, movies, and grape martini's. It was fun. We were pretty worn out from the long week, so we went to bed a little past midnight. We slept until noon, and I feel like I could have slept all day! I'm sure my body was catching up from the horrible sleep I got all week, but I still couldn't believe how tired I was!We got up Saturday, showered, and took the dog for a nice long walk. After the walk, we went to pick blueberries and get our fresh fruits and vegi's from the fruit stand. I am really going to miss the fresh fruits and veggies in the winter time! Anyway, after that, we went grocery shopping and then went back to our house to unload all our goods! We headed back to the Clarks Sr to take care of Buddy around 6. We had dinner and then left to meet Monika and JD at the Benton County Fair. We had fun just walking around and talking! We looked at the livestock, and spent a lot of time looking at the roosters and bunnies! They are SO cute. After the fair closed we all headed back to the Clark Sr's.We just enjoyed talking and laughing until a little after 1. They are not taking birth control......getting ready to have their 2nd child! How exciting!Sunday we ended up not going to Silver Falls..kind of a bummer, but we had a lot of house work, etc to do. So we got it all taken care of. It was a relaxing weekend. This week will NOT be relaxing, as we are getting ready for our camping trip this weekend. BUT, the camping will be very relaxing and make it all worth-while. I'm looking forward to "roughing it"I have really been thinking about starting a family lately...it feels like it's getting close to time.Travis is a wonderful husband and provider for our family....we are at a comfortable spot and I think we are getting close to taking the next step! It is exciting and a little scary to think about!!Well, have a good week! I will be trying to enjoy mine!!

Another Weekend is Here!

Man, I am so glad it's Friday. I have not been getting very good sleep for the past couple weeks, and it is really making a difference in everything!!
The weather here has been beautiful lately! I love having nice weather. I don't really like the temperature to go past 85 though! I know, I'm really picky.
This week has been a long one. I still don't know whats going on with my car insurance stuff. The adjuster conveniently went out of town Wednesday and won't be back until Monday.
We have been enjoying lots of bbq's lately! Last night we went to the Clarks Sr. for bbq'd salmon. Yummy! Jason and Amber (Trav's brother and sister in law) came down also. We found out that Amber is pregnant!
This weekend we are dog sitting for the Clark's. Tonight we are going to order Pizza Pipeline with Brian and Lindsey, and just veg out! Tomorrow we are going to the fair with Monika and JD, and Sunday I think we are going to Silver Creek Falls after we get our chores done. I am looking forward to it, because it sounds like it should be pretty relaxing!
Next weekend we are camping with our friend Ladd! I love camping so I'm pretty excited! Plus, I bought some bug spray for this trip!!
Have a good weekend everyone!!
