My baby

What a weekend. Friday as I was pulling my car into the garage I accidentally ran over my kitty, Kayden's tail. At first we didn't know what I ran over, and Friday night was excruciating. He just laid on the floor sleeping and looking so uncomfortable. Trav and I were afraid he could have internal bleeding and we were so afraid he might die. I can't imagine my life without him. He really is my baby. He comforts me when I'm sad, he cheers me up everyday. He sits on my lap when I get home from work and helps me relax and unwind from my day...he is just such a sweetheart.
At 7 in the morning we decided we should take him to the vet to get checked out. We took him in right at 9 when they opened. The vet checked him out and discovered that his tail was broken. What must have happened is I ran over his tail and he freaked out and tried to take off running when his tail was still under the wheel. He broke it right at the part it connects to his back. Poor baby. They also took xrays of him to make sure nothing else was wrong.....and found he has a broken pelvis also. He must have really took off. So he is on all sorts of good kitty "vicaden" and he is already doing better. I am just so happy that he is alive and going to be ok! There is nothing they can do to fix his tail though, they have to amputate it. I am very sad about that. I love his tail. But he is going to be a gorgeous bob-cat and he is still himself which is all that matters!
What a bummer though! I still can't really believe it happened. I would do anything to go back in time and stop it.

What a wonderful Christmas!

It's hard to believe that 5 days off is already over and it's back to work!
Friday evening was a blast! I got dressed up in my angel outfit and started in on my Raspberry Red Bull and vodkas! Lacee and Hunter arrived a little after 8 and we gave them the grand tour since they had never seen the house before. They seemed to really like it! They loved having their own room! We finished getting ready and headed to the party at about 9:30. Everyone at the party was dressed so cute! Well, all the girls! The boys were all dressed in nice slacks and nice collared shirts....some ever had a tie on. It's nice to see the boys dressed up! We hung out there until about 11 when the party moved to Lucky Larry's. We lasted there for about an hour before getting tired of the cigarette smoke and heading home. It was really good to see Rachelle again! She is such a sweetie and always fun to hang out with.
On our way home we stopped at a little sports bar a couple blocks from my house. Our friend K was supposed to be there so we were going to go pick on him. We walked in feeling pretty stupid since Lacee and I were still in our costumes. We didn't see K, so we turned around to walk out when I head someone call my name. I looked up to see my boss and his wife and friends at a table. I felt like a pretty big dork in my costume, but reluctantly we all went over to say hello. They poured us some beers and we talked for a while. K was there, he was just in a different room so he came out and we ended up going into that room and playing darts with he and his friends!
Saturday we slept in and RELAXED! We went to my parents in the evening and had some dinner with them! Sunday we slept in again and Trav took me out to dinner that evening and drove me around to see the Christmas lights in Corvallis. It was fun!
Monday we got up, got ready, and loaded up the car with all the gifts and a nights change of clothes, and were on our way to my parents for Christmas Eve dinner! We ate a huge WONDERFUL turkey dinner with all the fixins! I stuffed myself!!After dinner we opened a gift from dad, and then headed to a Christmas program in Salem. After the program we went to see the Keizer lights show! It is so neat how that whole area decorates their homes for Christmas! When we got home we opened our Christmas Eve present, which is always jammies that we sleep in that night and wake up and open our presents in the next morning!! Mine were really cute pink ones with snowflakes!
Christmas morning I woke up with a little bit of a sore throat, but I ignored it because it was CHRISTMAS!! We had breakfast and then went to the tree and passed out the gifts! We all had fun opening our gifts and everyone had a good amount of surprises! Trav and I got some new clothes, a gift card for a Wii from my parents, and a gift card to Fred Meyer from my brother. We got lots of little goodies also! Joel really seemed to like the v-rocker we got him, my dad loved his slippers and cds, and my mom was thrilled with her new computer chair and cd player! We headed to Travs parents after getting ready. Now my throat was bothering me quite a bit and my body was starting to feel run down. I rested on the couch and read a magazine until dinner was ready, tried to rest my throat! Dinner we delicious! Prime rib, mashed red potatoes, and green beans!! After dinner we visited with everyone until about 5. Then Trav and I headed to our house to get me some dayquil so I could enjoy the evening festivities! We met back up at my parents for dessert, but this time Lacee and Hunter joined us! We ate dessert, drank our drinks, and played Apples to Apples, talking and laughing until after 11!! It was so much fun! Everyone really enjoyed themselves!
We slept in again on Wednesday, and I woke up feeling REALLY bad. Trav took care of me, but we also managed to put away our Christmas decorations and get the house cleaned and back in regular order! I don't like to leave the Christmas decorations up after Christmas because it just reminds me that it's over. It's so sad when it's over!
Today it is back to work! Not to bad since it's Thursday! A 2 day work week isn't to bad though! And then another 4 days off! Thats how it should be!!Have a Happy New Year!! :)

Happy Holidays!

It's hard to believe it is almost the end of 2007! 2007 was a very eventful and memorable year. It started out with Trav 4 months into his job at the Democrat Herald, and me back at the Landfill for about a year. We were in the middle of trying to sell our cute little one bedroom house at 620 SW 14th Ave. We had outgrown the one bedroom and it was time to find something bigger. It went on the market at the end of Thanksgiving and we hadn't had much interest so far. In March we finally got an acceptable offer! We got it a couple days before we went on a vacation to Orange County CA to stay with Lacee. We had a great time on vacation but in the back of our minds we were thinking about the house, and all the inspections going alright, and finding a NEW house!
We got back on a Wednesday, and we back to work on Thursday. Thursday my boss called me into his office to let me know I was temporarily being transferred to the Woodburn office. WHAT?!?! Lindsey was also being transferred, so we were grateful to have someone to go through it with, and to carpool with! In the midst of the transfer and learning the AP for 4 new divisions, we had several house meetings....to look for a new one and to go over the inspections on the old one. There was one problem, it needed a new roof and we had to put it on. Ouch.
We found our house at the beginning of April and made an offer. We got it!! Now we had to wait for all THOSE inspections to go through! It needed a lot of "updating" but it was perfect for what Trav and I need for the next several years and right in our price range!
We closed on the 620 house on April 13th. We had to take our 3 cats to a cat hotel, and Air let us live with her until the new house was ours.
April 20th I found out the transfer to Woodburn was permanent. Horrible news!
We closed on the new house April 24th!! We slept on an air mattress for 2 weeks while we scraped the ceilings, wall paper off the walls, took carpet out, textured and painted! Our new floors went in May 8th! We were able to move our furniture that weekend!
The job search began! Every evening was now spent on the computer looking for and applying for jobs! Driving an hour each way to a job I hated was not acceptable to me.
I accepted my job as an office manager June 5th....also my birthday! It was very sad to leave all the people I had grown so close to at the Landfill, but leaving Woodburn didn't sting at all!
I started my new job in Albany on June 18th!
Trav and I continued to work on our house to turn it into our home!
We have continued to be busy almost every day! We have been on a strict "debt diet" to pay off our debt, but we are starting to see relief in early 08!

This weekend and next week will be very busy! Tomorrow my cousin Lacee and her BF Hunter will be here from CA! We are all going to a Christmas Costume party thrown by my friend Rachelle who is visiting from AZ where she is going to school! Saturday and Sunday will be filled with family and holiday activities! Monday is Christmas Eve and we are spending the day with my family....having our Christmas dinner, and going to look at the Keizer light show, along with our regular Christmas Eve activities! Christmas day we will wake up at my parents and open presents!! Then we are heading to Travs parents to have Christmas lunch (prime rib!) and do Christmas with them! Then we're headed back to my parents for dessert, drinks and games with the fam and Lacee and Hunter!! I am looking forward to all the festivities and to a new year!!
Happy Holidays!!

1 week till Christmas!!

Trav and I had a wonderful weekend! We have both been fighting getting a cold for the past week, so we were feeling pretty run down Friday afternoon when we got home from work. We had some dinner, and then cuddled up on the couch and watched "It's a Wonderful Life". We went to bed at about 11pm that night!! That is defiantly NOT our normal Friday night schedule. But it helped! We slept in and were both feeling quite a bit better Saturday morning!!
Saturday we slept in, and then got up and took care of all our chores and errands. We got done at about 5 and I was feeling worn out again so I took a little nap before our Christmas Dinner with Air and K. We have started a new tradition to always go to a nice dinner together to celebrate Christmas together....since we are with family on actual Christmas! This year we tried Allasandro's in Salem. It was wonderful! We will be back! They had live piano, and candles on the tables, and the food was very good. We headed back to the house and talked for a couple hours before we headed to bed at midnight! Not our normal Saturday night either!
But, all the extra rest really helped us feel better. I'm hoping we can beat this.....I don't want to be sick on my 5 days off for Christmas!
Sunday we woke up at 10, but laid in bed and talked until 11. We finally got up and got ready to head to my parents! My mom and I made Christmas Chocolate covered cherries and mints, and I made a cake for my brothers bday! I also worked on my angel wings for the Christmas costume party this weekend.
We headed to the Christmas Program at the Assembly at 2:30. It was a wonderful program! They do a great job every year! We got home at 5 and had some dinner and some birthday cake for dessert! Then we opened our stockings for St. Nicks night and mom and I decorated her tree!! It was a great day! Very festive and fun time spent with family!
Now it's back to work for a week....one week until 5 days off! I am so ready for some time off! I'm going to try to plow through Monday, my least favorite day of the week! Have a great week!!

VACATION TIME!!

I am SO excited right now. I have been so busy that I haven't blogged for a little while! I don't like getting behind!
We had a wonderful, Christmasy weekend. Friday my dad's play was hilarious, Saturday we had a great time shopping....I got lots of good stuff for myself and finished my Christmas shopping! Then we got to watch the Christmas parade!
That evening we drank and talked with friends! Sunday we slept in and had a lazy day watching Christmas movies, and of course getting all our chores done!
Trav's dad went in for surgery Monday morning. Travis spent the day at the hospital with his family. His dad is doing MUCH better now. He said the pain he was having daily is gone. Now his only pain is where the incision was made. That will heal though. He should be getting out of the hospital very soon!
I have been having a very busy holiday season! I have been taking off work early so I can go help my mom since she is so busy with Christmas baskets! It has been really fun, but keeping me busy!!
This weekend Trav's co-worker is having a Christmas party on Friday night we are going to. Saturday we are doing our chores and then going to Allesandro's in Salem for a nice Christmas Dinner with Air and K! It's going to be a lot of fun! Sunday we are celebrating my little brothers bday, going to a "Celebrate Christmas" program at the Assembly, and doing St. Nicks night that evening! I am really looking forward to it!
So Trav and I have been talking about a vacation for MONTHS. We've been saving for this one extra long because originally we were going to go on a cruise, which cost more than our normal annual vacation budget. Since then, the cruise fell through, so we were trying to think of something GREAT that cost a little more than normal. We finally settled on and booked an all-inclusive resort on the Riviera Maya, which is about 45 miles from Cancun. It is a BEAUTIFUL resort right on the beach. It has 7 restaurants and 10 bars, including 2 swim up pool bars. All the food, drinks, and water activities are included in the price so we don't have to worry about a thing! We can have steak and crab along with expensive cocktails every night if we want! I am really excited to go! I could go off about it for pages, so I'll save some for another post when I am feeling excited about it again!
Well, thats all for now. I'm going to finish up my work here and head over to moms! Have a great weekend!

Christmas-time!!

Beavers won the civil war!!! GO Beavs! The first time we've won at Atzen Stadium since 93!! And we won in double overtime. What a game!! As you can tell, I was super excited about our win!
Friday I left early to go to the dentist for a cleaning. I love getting my teeth cleaned! I do need to floss more though, I can tell. And I think I'm going to start using mouth wash. Also, my dentist recommended that I get my top 2 wisdom teeth out. They are barely sticking out of my gums and they are hard to clean so she said they can decay pretty easily. So now I have that to think about! I am terrified of getting them out, especially if they aren't putting me under, which they wouldn't be for this procedure!
Anyway, Trav and I had a "romantic" night that night. We went out to dinner, then did a little shopping, since I had 2 $10 coupons burning a hole in my pocket. I got some cute shoes and a cute sweater and Trav got a nice new thermal. We also got a cool massager thing. All for only $30!! After shopping we went home and watched movies and snuggled up on the couch. It was so stormy out that night! It's nice watching the storm out the window while being snuggled up inside!! We went to bed at about 11:30. We were both really pooped from the week!
We slept in on Saturday, and didn't get going until about 11. We got ready and were out of the house by noon. We had a few things to do. We had to go to Corvallis to pick up his dads truck, and visit with his dad for a while. His dad is having surgery on the 10th, but all the time he's been waiting for it, he had just been miserable and company helps. So we stopped taco bell to grab some lunch, and then went to Trav parents. We visited for about an hour, but his dad was on some paid meds and they made him pretty out of it.
So we headed off to get our tree! We've been going to a tree farm in Lewisburg for the past several years. It was slimmer than normal pickings this year, but we found a great one, sawed it down, loaded it up, and brought it home! We wanted to get it into the tree stand before we returned the truck and visited with his dad more, so we did that, which took a little while. We headed back to Corvallis at about 2:30, and watched the game with his dad. Go Beavs!
After the game we headed home, had some dinner, and worked on situating the living room around the tree. We were pretty pooped and had plans with Air and K that evening, so we decided we'd decorate everything on Sunday.
We drank wine at Air's.....I drank to much. I had fun, but I ended up sick. I rarely get sick. I woke up sick to. Really sick. I had a migraine, and I was nauseous. We went home and started getting out the decorations, and I had to lay down. Travis lit a few candles, put Christmas music on and wrapped me in a blanket while he worked on the laundry. I napped for a couple hours, until I finally felt well enough to stand!
Then the decorating began! It was so much fun pulling out all the decorations. I get a few more every year and I always forget about some of them so it's a surprise every year!! We put the lights on, then the garland, then all the ornament's! We were just putting the finishing touches on, and realized we were missing the tree topper. Trav was headed out to the garage to find it and I turned to looked at him when I heard a snap and turned back toward the tree as is crashed into me!! The tree seriously just fell right on top of me. We're lucky I was standing there, or it would have fallen on the floor and we would have had to re-do the whole thing! Anyway, for the next hour I held the tree while Trav worked on securing it at the bottom!! We finally got it all figured out and finished it up! I'll try to describe it. It is 7.5 feet tall, in the corner of the living room. It is very wide, so it takes up the whole corner! The tree topper is an angel. It is decorated in white lights, silver garland, purple and silver bulbs, and several other cute ornament's we've collected through the years. We got a new tree shirt, which is a rich royal purple velvet with silver leaves along the end and silver sequence. We were very happy with how it all turned out!
We finished the evening with grocery shopping and watching Desperate Housewives! (And gazing at our tree...hehe) 'Tis the season!
