Memorial Day Weekend 08

Our weekend didn't go as planned, but thats ok! The weather did not shape up, so the beach got ruled out. How much fun is the beach in the rain?? Not much!
So instead, Friday we went to dinner with my parents and then came back to the house for some wine. We watched an old Indiana Jones movie to! It was fun. They headed home at about 10, and Trav and I got a little more serious with the drinks! I drank WAY to much wine. I was actually chugging it at a couple points, which is never a good idea. So needless to say when I woke up Sat morning I wasn't feeling the greatest.
We stayed in bed until after 12! When we finally got up, we had some lunch....grilled cheese! Yummy. Then we decided to do our chores and errands just in case the weather shaped up Sun and Mon, so we could go to the beach if it did. After running all our errands we came back to the house and did some yard work for a few hours. We are working on edging the front yard. It's about half done now.
After all our hard work on the yard we went and got some burgers and then headed over to Linds and Brians to watch Cloverfield.
Sunday we slept in until about 11, and got up to pretty much do nothing. It was great having a day to just be able to relax! The weather showed rain on the coast...so we decided not to do that. We laid around watching TV and bbqing most of the afternoon. In the early evening we went to get our hair cut....and then came home. We went to bed at about 1. It was a good night.
Monday we got up at 10, and laid in bed talking until 11. We got up and went rollerblading around town. It was fun. We talked about the house we'd like to have someday. We got home and got ready to go to a bbq at Air's. We got there a little after 2, and ate at about 3. We had great food and great drinks all day! Trav and I headed home at about 8:30.
Now it's back to another work week. I'm sad that the long weekend is over, but it was very relaxing. And now this week is only 4 days!! Friday will be here before I know it! This weekend we are going to dinner with Mon and JD on Friday night, and Sat Air is taking me to get a pedicure for my bday and then we're going to go shopping! It should be good fun!
Trav and I are going to start exercising again. He has a weight bench at home, so he is going to start lifting, and we're going to go for walks/jogs or rollerblading, etc for our cardio. While he is lifting weights I'm going to do a little more cardio...some jumping jacks, and of course sit ups! We have a cd player out in the garage so we'll crank up the tunes and get our workout on!
It's a good plan....now we just have to stick to it!
Thats all thats new in the Clark household. Have a good short week!

It's been to long

I haven't posted for almost 2 weeks! The weather has been shaping up around here....keeping me busy!
We had a fabulous Mothers day. It was great fun spoiling our mothers!! They both really enjoyed their time with us, and their gifts!
Saturday we did car maint. and chores and cleaned and went groc shopping, etc, and Sunday we woke up early and met the Clarks Sr at church and then took them out for Mothers Day lunch at Kathy's favorite place. Then we rushed to our house to get ready for my parents and grandma to come over! They arrived at 3:30 and we talked and drank wine until 6, when dinner was ready. I made garlic chicken and potatoes with salad and we had fresh pineapple as an appetizer and chocolate ice cream for dessert. It was wonderful!
Grandma left after dinner at about 7:30 and mom and I watched PS I love you, which she has been dying to see. I was chipping in money with my dad to get her favorite perfume but when we got to the house and I gave him the money he gave me a sweater to give her instead! Anyway, I think she liked it a lot. :)
Last weekend we went to Bend to visit Ladd.
We left for Bend right after work on Friday. It was 97 degrees here Friday afternoon!!
It was a little cooler over in Bend than it was in the Valley, but still in the upper 80's to low 90's! Better than the upper 90's like it was here though! Man it was hot! To go from 40 - 50 degrees and rain that we've been having, to 97 degrees practically overnight!! Anyway, we loved the sunshine!
Saturday we went into town to check out Bend. It was fun, we walked around some outdoor shopping malls and stuff. That night Ladd surprised us with tickets to a desert brawl fight. It was really fun.
Sunday we slept in, woke up to a huge breakfast, and talked with Ladd and his parents for an hour or 2. We decided to head home pretty early so we could get our Sunday chores and errands done. On our way out, Ladd made us a beautiful potted plant to take home, and his mom gave Trav some shoes and a suit that were new and had been donated to her for the school! It was very thoughtful!!
Now it's back to another work week! I am looking forward to a 3 day weekend! Trav and I are planning on going to the beach, as long as the weather allows it!! Monday we're planning on edging and weeding the yard, and having a BBQ!
Thats all for now! Enjoy the week.

Strega

May is here! I can't believe how quickly the months keep flying by!! So far the May weather has been pretty nice. It's good to have less rain and more sunshine!
Over the weekend we went to a new restaurant in Corvallis called Strega with Mon and JD. It was a great restaurant. The ceiling even had twinkle lights! And of course the food was delicious.
After dinner we went back to our house and had some drinks while playing the Wii! JD and Mon got Trav the Wii Mario Smash Bros game for his bday, so they played that to check it out. It was really fun.
Saturday we slept in...seriously we slept and slept and woke up around 11, looked at each other, decided we had nothing pressing to do and we were both tired so we laid back down and slept until 2:30!!
So needless to say we didn't do anything until Saturday evening. We went to Air's for a fire. I drank wine spritzers again, and we had a fire and finished off the night at about 3 with spaghetti.
We slept in Sunday until about 10 and got up to start all our Suday chores.
When we were getting home from grocery shopping my mom called and asked if we wanted to go to lunch, but the sun had just come out and it was beautiful and warm so we invited them over for a BBQ. We had BBQ'd chicken, baked beans, fresh pineapple and mango, salad with all the fixin's, and chips! Then my mom and I wanted chocolate so the guys went out and got us some, and the movie 27 dresses. It was still so nice out though, so we got some old bread and walked to the park to feed the duckies. Then we swang on the swings and played on the playground. It was crazy seeing my mom and dad on a jungle gym!!!
We headed back and watch 27 dresses and my parents left at about 7.
Then of course Travy got a hankerin for more bbq so we went to the store to get hot dogs. :) We bbq'd those up for dinner and finally started settling in for the night at 9:30!! Usually we wind down on Sunday nights at like 6!
Monday, as usual, came far to quickly!
It's almost the weekend again now. Tomorrow evening we are going to Linds and Brians for a BBQ, and Sunday is Mothers Day so we are spoiling our moms all day!!
Have a great weekend!

Grow grass Grow!

Another weekend has come and gone! Our friend Ladd came to stay with us over the weekend. He brought with him his new puppy, Zeus. He is pretty much the cutest, sweetest, most loving little puppy I have ever been around. And he is a pit! I fell in love with him. Even though he chewed on my furniture, and peed on my floors!
We got a lot of work done over the weekend. We were blessed with nice weather so early Saturday morning the boys went and rented a thatcher. We thatched the front and back 2 times. A couple sections in the back we thatched 3 times. It was really bad. We returned the thatcher by 2pm, and headed to Home Depot to buy grass seed and top soil. We started with 3 big bags or top soil and a 10lb bag of seed. After the front lawn we went back for 7 more bags of top soil, and we could have used several more!
By the end of the day we were exhausted, but we did it. We thatched and overseeded the front and back lawn....all in a days work! Now we just have to water twice a day when it doesn't rain, and wait for the seed to start growing. We have several other yard projects we'd like to do this spring and summer! Ladd is a landscaper and is very helpful in that area! Thank you Ladd!
Saturday night we went out for sushi and then partied it up at the house. We were up until very late! 5am. :)
Sunday we slept in until noon and then made some breakfast and sat around playing with Zeus and relaxing. Ladd headed back to Bend at about 2:30 in the afternoon. After he left Trav and I did our regular Sunday errands and chores, and at about 5 had some dinner and settled in the the evening.
Over the week we met with a lawyer about my medical case for the auto accident. I think we are going to hire him. He seemed very knowledgeable on the subject, and has been handling cases like this for over 15 years. My medical coverage was cut off effective 4/9/08 as far as the insurance is concerned, even though I am still having problems. I had to go to an independent examiner to see if the treatment I've been getting is still reasonable. He didn't take xrays or anything, he just wrote a letter stating that a female of my age should be fine after 4 months of treatment, so I'm fine. Well, thats absurd, and I'm NOT fine. So, the battle begins. It looks like I'll need to pay for treatment myself unless my treating physician can convince them otherwise. I can't really afford it, but I need it. I won't go as often as I was, but I will be sure to continue going.
This weekend we are planning on going to dinner with Mon and JD. Hopefully we'll go to Strega, a new restaurant in Corvallis Travis and I have been wanting to try!
Well, I guess it's time to get back to my Monday. I'm trying to enjoy every moment these days....but the countdown is already on for Friday!! Have a good week!

A birthday weekend

Monday Monday.....not the best day of the week. But, I'm going to make the best of it!!!
Wednesday was Trav's bday!! I took him out for a birthday lunch, and after work we headed to his parents for a birthday dinner.
Amber and Jason surprised us by coming down for the occasion. So of course everyone took turns holding Coraline. Dinner was delicious, and Travis scored some more great gifts! He got lots of books from Amber and Jason, and some blinds for our bedroom window from his parents.
Friday we got some friends together and went to Red Lobster for his birthday. Linds and Brian, Air and K, and Mon and JD were going to join us!
We carpooled with Linds and Brian, and Air and K showed up right on time....but where were Mon and JD? We waited about 15 mins before I gave Mon a call. Poor Mon....she said, I thought the dinner was Saturday night? Oh my goodness....I realized I had given her the wrong night!! I felt terrible. So she wished Trav a happy bday from home and told us to have fun. I am going to have to make that up to her!!!
Anyway, dinner was wonderful! I had crab legs and salmon with broccoli and green salad. YUM! Trav had a platter of scallops, squid, fish, and shrimp. It looked really good. We of course ate plenty of cheesy biscuits, and took several home! Brian made sure the staff sang Happy Birthday to him! And they brought him ice cream. It was really fun.
After dinner we went back to the house to have cake and play the Wii. We rocked out on guitar hero for a while, and then switched it to bowling.
Saturday we slept in! Thank goodness! I needed to catch up! When we got up we wandered to the store to get the ingredients for the birthday dinner (yes this is like the fourth one) Trav requested I make for him. He wanted cheese ravioli with chicken in a cream sauce, salad, and garlic bread. My parents came over at 5, bearing more gifts! Wine and slippers! We sat down to dinner at 6. Of course after dinner we had to rock out on guitar hero a little, and then switched to sports. My dad loves sports. So we hit the baseball for a while, then Trav and I boxed, and finally we changed it to a less strenuous game of bowling. I am still feeling sore from the baseball and boxing!!
Sunday we did all our regular chores and errands before Trav's friend Ryan came to visit. They hung out and, you guessed it, played guitar hero (At least Trav is getting good use out of his gift!!) for about 3 hours.
We crawled into bed at 10 and the next thing I knew, the alarm was going off telling to get up and start a new week. So here I am!!
Tonight we are going to dinner at the Clarks for Trav's dad's bday. More good food! And Wednesday we are meeting with a lawyer to go over my medical auto claim. I will be happy when this is all over, and hopefully I will be all better by then!
Have a good week everyone!

Life in Clark-land

It's 3pm on Tuesday! Almost time to go home, have some dinner (burritos are on the menu tonight), hit the gym for a nice workout, and come home to relax!
Tomorrow is Trav's 26th bday!! Happy Birthday to my dear husband!
I got him guitar hero 3, but I gave it to him on Friday because I couldn't stand keeping the secret! And I knew he wouldn't mind getting his gift early! Plus, that evening we were getting together with friends and I wanted to be able to bring it to the party! We have had so much fun playing it!
Friday night we had dinner with Brian, Lindsey, Jeff, and Maria. Jeff recently accepted a job and is going to be out of the Allied death grip next week! Go Jeff! So we had to celebrate. We went to dinner at our new favorite place, GameTime, and then headed to Lindsey and Brians where we rocked out on guitar hero until 1. It was a lot of fun.
Saturday was an amazingly beautiful day here in the valley! It got up to 85! We had to dog sit for the Clarks Sr. so we headed to Corvallis a little after noon. We took Buddy roller blading to enjoy the weather and get his walk in, all at the same time! We came back for a break and played some guitar hero before heading back out. This time we went on a much longer trip, leaving Buddy at home.
It was so nice out, and it was a lot of fun to go rollerblading in places we used to about 10 years ago! At about 6 we headed back to BBQ some dinner!
That night we played guitar hero for probably 6 hours! It was a blast.
Sunday was just the usual. Chores, grocery shopping, and relaxing before the new week begins!
Now we're back to it! Tomorrow we are going to Trav's parents for Bday dinner. Friday we are going to Red Lobster with Lindsey, Brian, Air, K, Mon and JD to celebrate, and Saturday evening we are going out with my parents to celebrate! Lots of parties for Trav.
Well, I still have some work to do and 5 is starting to close in on me! Back to it! Have a great week!!

A big pay-off

Ok, I'm just excited and had to brag a little!
Trav and I are going to pay off our 2nd mortgage this month or early next month!! Even though we had to PAY on our taxes this year...almost $1000! We have been working SO SO hard to get this sucker paid off that we've really limited out spending cash for the last year...but it looks like we're gonna make it! It was our small small mortgage, but we didn't want that extra payment! $16,500! $21,500 with our HD cc and $23,500 with the unexpected taxes and vet/car bills! That is a lot to pay off in a year.
Let me tell you it took a lot of hard work and dedication from Trav and I!
WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I am so so so happy to have it be gone. We still have so much we want to pay off, but that was a big goal for us and we are almost there. I feel like all we do is pay off debt! First cc's, then saving for a house, then the 2nd mortgage and the HD cc that we used for repairs and updating the house!
But wow, we are so close now I can taste it!
Sorry to rant and rave for so long!
